清水寺

The key to this photo is the color adjustment. This image would not be very powerful if it were just normal colored. The heavy green and black gradient map make it seem just surreal. It makes it seem both dark and dreary in a way while also giving the feel of a magical place. I love this image also because it shows the beautiful Japanese architecture and landscape.

Vanishing point is a very important to establishing perspective. The photographer in this instance wanted to show the vast size of the field running into the mountains. we see the lines of the field all going up the picture to point us at the ountains and it puts the horizon at 1/3 of the height of the picture fllowing the rule of thirds so this is just all around a good image.

This is just such a cool picture. The piano is obviously old and worn out from much time being left out in the weather but to me it represents years of beautiful music. Music is such a cool medium that lasts over time. I can listen to music 50 years old or the latest tune from Coldplay and it just amazes me. This picture captures the timeliness of music, and although it may be old and not quite the fresh music it used to be, it is still beautiful, amazing music.

It always amazes me the memories a picture can bring back. Chelsea was my dog for probably about 10 years and we loved her so much. Everybody said she looked goofy and ugly, but to me she was the cutest dog in the world! She was abused by previous owners and their dogs so she was pretty shy, but that's part of the reason whe was so cute. The funny thing about this picture is that it really brings out the length of her head, and that's what I remember her the most for. Her funny shaped head was her best and funniest characteristic. I miss her a lot...she could never be replaced...
